1Peter

1 PETER

Written by Silvanus

Likely written after Paul's arrest, Peter was reinforcing Paul's teachings.

Written to the Israelite dispersion in all the places where Paul founded assemblies.

The dispersion are the northern tribes of Israel (the uncircumcision) that did not return to Jerusalem after the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities. They also included those that left Egypt before the Exodus. Of course the message was for the descendants of all 12 tribes of Israel, who are the same people then as now. The Anglo-saxon Christian Caucasian nations of the world.

The 'elect' describes the elected, the 'called', set apart, holy and chosen seed of Abraham. A people separated from all other people by Yahweh, to be a light to society, the city on the hill. To be the example of the model Christ demonstrated to us.

As a true Israelite, Peter addressed his first letter to 'strangers' dwelling in the regions of Asia Minor, south of the Black Sea. The Greek word translated 'strangers' literally means 'aliens alongside' i.e., not the natives of those parts.

As a true Israelite, he called them, 'elect', and in both the Old and New Testaments, the word translated 'elect' means 'select' or 'chosen'. The children of Jacob can only be the 'elect'.

As a true Israelite, he illustrated his points by reference to the Old Testament.

As a true apostle of Yahshua Christ, these letters are full of what he had seen and known of Him. His memories: The Transfiguration, the sufferings of Christ, the Resurrection, his special commission to 'feed the flock of Yahweh which is among you,' the Ascension, and his own transgression of denying his association with Christ.

The original Greek will be used to clarify and restore any mistranslations made by either innocent ignorance or deliberate tampering.

Salutation

1Peter 1:1  Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the (chosen), strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

The Greek translates as: 'Peter, commissioner of Yahshua the Antointed, to chosen expatriates of thru sowing (of dispersion)...'

Sounds like the parable of the sower!

There are at least 7 different definitions of 'stranger'. Some mean a stranger of another race. Some mean a stranger that is near to you, a kinsman. Here the definition refers to a stranger of the same race, a sojourner.

1Peter 1:17  And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons (status) judgeth according to every man's work, in fear for the time of your sojourning:

1Peter 2:11  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

The Adamic race, with the breath of Yahweh's spirit in us, are sojourners in the earth. We are not of the earth. We are of the Spirit. We came from above.

The Bible is the book of the generations of Adam. Adam is a specific race. The “churches” teach that we all came from Adam. Scripture makes a distinction between Adamites and everyone else. Peter is addressing his kinsmen, near and far.

1:2  Elect (Chosen) according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of (set-apart by) the blood of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ: Grace (favor, Divine influence) unto you, and peace, be multiplied.   (1Pet 1:14,22)

Since Abraham dedicated Isaac to Yahweh on the altar, Isaac's seed was set apart, called, elected. Nobody else can become elected. Yahweh chose Isaac.

A Living Hope

1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Prince Yahshua Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ from the dead,

The Greek reads 'engendered us from above'.

We are made in the image of Yahweh. Adam was the first with the Spirit (DNA). As long as we remain holy and separate, meaning unmixed, our posterity (DNA) will be pure. And eligible.

1:4  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  (2Esd 8:52; Col 1:5)

1:5  Who are kept (being preserved) by the power of God through faith (belief) unto salvation (deliverance) ready to be revealed in the last time.  (Joh 10:28)

1:6  Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness (pain) through manifold temptations (various trials):

Matthew 5:12  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

2Corinthians 4:17  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

1:7  That the trial (test, proving) of your faith (The Belief of you), being much more precious (valuable) than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory (dignity) at the appearing of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ:   (2Esd 16:73)

If you “just believe”, you might not be found praiseworthy. Yahweh wants doers, not just “believers”.

1:8  Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see Him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable (indescribable) and full of glory:

1John 4:20  If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1:9  Receiving the end of your faith (The Belief of you), even the salvation of your souls (a deliverance of lives).

Romans 6:22  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end (result) everlasting life.

1:10  Of which salvation (preservation) the prophets have enquired and searched (examined) diligently, who prophesied of the grace (favor, Divine influence) that should come unto you:

1:11  Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them (the prophets) did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory (honor) that should follow.

2Peter 1:21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

1:12  Unto whom (the prophets) it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels (messengers) desire to look into.   (Dan 9:24)

A Call to Set-Apart Living

1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for (set your expectation perfectly upon) the grace (favor, Divine influence) that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus (Yahshua) Christ;  (Eph 6:14; Luk 21:34)

1:14  As obedient children, not fashioning (conforming) yourselves according to the former lusts (desires) in your ignorance:

Acts 17:30  And the times of this ignorance God winked at (overlooked); but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Referring to the dispersed of Israel. Those that did not experience the giving of the law on Mt Sinai.

Isaiah 45:4  For Jacob My servant's sake, and Israel Mine elect, I have even called you by your name: I have surnamed you, though you hast not known Me.

Isaiah 43:1  But now thus saith Yahweh that created you, O Jacob, and He that formed you, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you art Mine.

Yahweh did not claim this of anyone else.

Leviticus 11:44  For I am Yahweh your God: you shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Leviticus 19:2  Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I Yahweh your God am holy.

Leviticus 20:26  And you shall be holy unto Me: for I Yahweh am holy, and have severed you from other people, that you should be Mine.

This does not sound like Yahweh included the whole world does it?

Holy means dedicated, set apart, sacred.

 1:15  But as He which hath called you is holy, so be you holy in all manner of conversation (conduct);

2Corinthians 7:1  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1:16  Because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy.  (Lev 11:44, 19:2, 20:26)

1:17  And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons (without partiality) judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

The last part should read: '...you must conduct yourselves in fear for the time of your sojourn,'

Hebrews 12:28  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace (favor), whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

This life is our test, our trial, to imitate the example of Christ. You don't pass a test by “just believing”.

 1:18  Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed (released) with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation (conduct) received by tradition from your fathers;

1:19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:  (4Mac 17:21-22)

Acts 20:28  Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church (assembly) of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood.

The flock is the children of Israel.

Christ did not shed His blood for the “church” as the “churches” claim. The word “church” has been changed from the word 'ecclesia' which means an assembly of the 'called'. The seed of Jacob. Yahweh never intended the apostate denominational institutionalized hierarchy that is today called the “church”. This is man's doing. Do you really think that Yahweh approves of all the different versions we now have, or do you think He wanted us to stick to the original Word?

1:20  (Christ) Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world (society), but was manifest in these last times for you,

1:21  Who by Him do believe (the ones believing) in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory (honor); that your faith (The Belief of you) and hope (expectation) might be in God.  (Act 2:24,33)

1:22  Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:

       (Act 15:9; Heb 13:1; Gal 5:13)

1:23  Being born again (engendered from above), not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

John 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

James 1:18  Of His own will begat He us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.

1:24  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

1:25  But the word of Yahweh endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.  (Isa 40:6-8)

1 Cor 15:42-49 is an allegory for Gen 2:7. Explaining the difference between the earthy and the spiritual. “Born again” is a mistranslation and therefore misunderstood. To be heir to the promises and inheritance we must be engendered from above. This means born of the womb into Adamic flesh, and born of the spirit. Only the generations of Adam can claim this.

The Living Stone and a Chosen People

1Peter 2:1  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

2:2  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby:

2:3  If so be you have tasted that the Prince is gracious.

2:4  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

The Greek: 4  Coming forth to Him a living stone, indeed having been rejected as unfit by men but honored elect before Yahweh,

Psalm 118:22  The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

2:5  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus (Yahshua) Christ.

This is only talking about seed of Israel. We are the spiritual house, the temple, our spiritual sacrifices would be our good works, imitating Christ instead of conforming to society.

1Timothy 6:18  That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

6:19  Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture (OT), Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect (chosen), precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded (ashamed).  (Isa 28:16)

The “churches” teach that all you have to do is “believe on Him”. Well, that includes believing and following His doctrine.

Zion refers to His people, the children of Israel, the seed of Abraham, the elect.

2:7  Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient (willfully do not believe), the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,   (Psa 118:22)

2:8  And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient (willfully disobeying the Word): whereunto also they were appointed.   (Isa 8:14; Joh 3:36; Heb 3:18)

Romans 9:22  What if God, willing to shew wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

In verses 7-8 Peter is talking about the children of Jacob (light, vessels of mercy), and Esau (darkness, vessels of destruction).

Romans 9:6  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

9:7  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall your seed be called.

9:8  That is, They (Esau's children) which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise (Abraham's) are counted for the seed.

The children of Cain and Esau have always been thorns in our side.

Even though Esau was a pure Adamite, and the seed of Isaac, Esau despised his race and birthright and married Canaanites. His children are known as the Edomites, and later on infiltrated and took control of the sects of the Sadducees and Pharisees. These Canaanite/Edomites are the ones who killed Christ. (Gen 3:15) They are also the ones running our country.

2:9  But you are a chosen generation (race), a royal priesthood, an holy (set apart) nation, a peculiar people; that you should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:   (Exo 19:5-6; Deut 4:20, 7:6, 14:2; Isa 9:2, 43:2, 61:6; Tit 2:14)

Deuteronomy 10:15  Only Yahweh had a delight in your fathers to love them, and He chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.

2:10  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained (been shown) mercy (compassion, loving-commitment), but now have obtained (are being shown) mercy (compassion, loving-commitment).   (Hos 2:23; Isa 63:16, 64:8, 65:1; Rom 9:25-26)

The “churches” teach that this is talking about the “church”, or the “Gentiles”.

Hosea 1:9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for you are not My people, and I will not be your God.

1:10  Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not My people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Scripture reveals that our ancestors disobeyed Yahweh. As a result, Yahweh 'put them away in punishment', or 'cast them off', divorced them. This is what the word 'lost' means. Christ came only unto the lost (put away in punishment) sheep of the House of Israel.

Hosea 1:10 is a prophecy, 'it shall come to pass...'. Well, for a few hundred years now, the Jews have successfully deceived us into thinking that they are Israel and we are “Gentiles”. But just before Christ returns, the truth will be revealed.

Live as Servants of Elohiym

2:11  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers (elect sojourners) and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts (desires), which war against the soul;  (Psa 39:12; Gal 5:16; Jas 4:1)

2:12  Having your conversation (conduct) honest among the Gentiles (nations): that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.   (Mat 5:16)

 2:13  Submit yourselves to every ordinance (authority) of man for the Master's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

2:14  Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by Him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

2:15  For so is the will of God, that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

Titus 2:8  Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

2:16  As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness (evil), but as the servants of God.

Galatians 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (sin).

Verse 16 is a stab at the Pharisees. The cloke of evil represents organized crime. Christ's death ended the ordinances of the rituals, both of the OT priesthood and the perverted decrees of the Pharisees.

2:17  Honour all. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Romans 12:10  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Hebrews 13:1  Let brotherly love continue.

Have you noticed that scripture does NOT teach “personal salvation”? Only the “churches” do. You don't get to enter the Kingdom by proclaiming by your own admission that you are “saved”.

The Kingdom is built on brotherly love, it's a group effort. It's imitating Christ's example. Did He not show the ultimate brotherly love?!

The Example of Christ's Suffering

2:18  Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle (reasonable), but also to the froward (crook).

2:19  For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

19  For this is a benefit, if through consciousness of Yahweh one endures suffering grief unrighteously.

Matthew 5:10  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2:20  For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with (graditude toward) God.

20  For what sort of report, if doing wrong and being beaten you will submit? But if doing good and suffering you submit, this is a benefit before Yahweh.

We must sometimes pick up the slack for our brethren who don't see. We must suffer as a people. Christ died for us.

2:21  For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:   (1Cor 11:1)

Matthew 16:24  Then said Yahshua unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me.

1John 2:6  He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

Christ showed us the example for us to seek, follow and imitate. Not to “just believe”.

2:22  Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth:   (Isa 53:9; Joh 8:55, 15:10; 2Co 5:21; 1Jn 3:5)

2:23  Who, when He was reviled (abused), reviled not again (abused not in return); when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously:

2:24  Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.   (Isa 53:4-5; Rom 6:2; 1Pet 4:1-2)

Not allowing sin to rule over us.

Romans 7:6  But now we are delivered from the law (rituals), that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter (according to the rituals).

The OT sacrifices did not deliver us from death. Christ's sacrifice does, when we serve Him in righteousness by being obedient and imitating Him.

2:25  For you were as sheep going astray (wandering, falling away from truth); but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop (Overseer) of your souls.

Isaiah 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Yahweh hath laid on Him (Christ) the iniquity of us all.

Wives and Husbands

1Peter 3:1  Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the Word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation (conduct) of the wives;   (Eph 5:22; Col 3:18)

Setting an example.

3:2  While they behold your chaste (modest) conversation (conduct) coupled with fear (respect).

 3:3  Whose adorning (dress) let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

1Timothy 2:9  In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness (modesty) and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Vanity. Empty pleasure. Conceit of one's personal attainments or decorations.

3:4  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Romans 2:29  But he is a Judaean, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Spiritual versus fleshly.

3:5  For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted (relied) in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

3:6  Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters you are, as long as you do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.   (Gen 18:12)

The Greek: 6  As Sarah had obeyed Abraham calling him master, whose children you have been born to do good and not fearing any terror.

3:7  Likewise, you husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace (favor, Divine influence) of life; that your prayers be not hindered.   (Eph 5:25; Col 3:19)

1Corinthians 7:3  Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

12:23  And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

Mutual respect.

Suffering for Doing Right

3:8  Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful (compassionate), be courteous (humble-minded):

3:9  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing (abuse) for railing (abuse): but contrariwise blessing; knowing that you are thereunto called, that you should inherit a blessing.

Proverbs 17:13  Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

Only the 'called' (the seed of Isaac) through righteousness can claim inheritance.

Matthew 25:34  Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

3:10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Psalm 34:12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

James 1:26  If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

We must not hold grudges.

3:11  Let him eschew (turn away from) evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Psalm 37:27  Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

3:12  For the eyes of Yahweh are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of Yahweh is against them that do evil.   (Psa 34:12-16)

John 9:31  Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth His will, him He heareth.

3:13  And who is he that will harm you, if you be followers of that which is good?

Proverbs 16:7  When a man's ways please Yahweh, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

3:14  But and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy (blessed) are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;   (Isa 8:12; Mat 5:10)

James 1:12  Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Prince hath promised to them that love Him.

3:15  But sanctify the Prince Christ in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:   (Isa 8:12-13)

Be ready to witness.

Psalm 119:46  I will speak of your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

Colossians 4:6  Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

3:16  Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation (conduct) in Christ.

Sinners hate us when we refuse to join them.

3:17  For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

3:18  For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:   (Rom 5:18)

 3:19  By which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

Ephesians 4:8  Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

4:9  (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Isaiah 61:1  The Spirit of Yahweh GOD is upon me; because Yahweh hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Isaiah 42:7  To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Prison is a metaphor representing 'without Yahweh'.

The souls that were dead from Adam to Christ were in the grave, in a type of sleep. It is evident that Christ proclaimed the gospel to them as well.

3:20  Which sometime (at one time) were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved (preserved) by water.   (Gen 6:1-7:24; 4Mac 7:1)

3:21  The like figure whereunto even baptism (immersion) doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Yahshua Christ:

Baptism was a Levitical ritual done by John the Baptist for Christ, preparing Him for the sacrifice. This was part of the ordinances that were done away with. Christ was the last sacrifice, and John was the last of the Old Covenant priesthood. Now we must immerse ourselves in the knowledge and understanding of the Word. Water or a man cannot do anything for you. Being immersed in Truth can. Being immersed in water cannot. Being immersed in Christ with understanding and obedience can preserve you.

3:22  (Christ) Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels (messengers) and authorities and powers being made subject unto Him.  (Psa 110:1; Rom 8:34)

Good Stewards of Yahweh's Favor

1Peter 4:1  Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;   (Rom 6:2-22; 1Pet 2:25)

4:2  That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts (desires) of men, but to the will of God.

Romans 14:7  For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

Christ redeemed us. He bought us back with His life. We owe Him allegiance (faith).

4:3  For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the heathens, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings (orgies), banquetings (wild parties), and abominable idolatries:

4:4  Wherein they think it strange that you run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

They hate us when we do not follow them.

4:5  (We) Who shall give account to Him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

Acts 10:42  And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He (Christ) which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

Part of our duty is to correct our brethren when they stray, and to cast out evil from our society.

4:6  For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

4:7  But the end (consummation) of all things is at hand: be you therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

4:8  And above all things have fervent charity (love) among yourselves: for charity (love) shall cover the multitude of sins.   (Pro 10:12; Tob 12:9)

Colossians 3:14  And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness.

4:9  Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

4:10  As every man hath received the gift (Divine gratuity), even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace (favor, Divine influence) of God.  (Rom 12:6-8)

4:11  If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles (sayings) of God; if any man minister (serves), let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified (honored) through Yahshua Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Suffering as a Christian

4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

We are not as righteous as we think we are. You will be judged.

1Corinthians 3:13  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

The “churches” teach that you will escape these fiery trials and tribulation when you are “raptured”.

Scripture teaches that this life is the trial, the test, to prove our allegiance, through suffering. Why suffering? Because if you imitate Christ and live for the Spirit, then Society will hate you and bring you affliction, which proves your allegiance (faith).

4:13  But rejoice, inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory (honor) shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy.  (Acts 5:41)

Romans 8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified (honored) together.

4:14  If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy (blessed) are you; for the spirit of glory (honor) and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified (honored).   (2Cor 12:10; Jas 1:12)

Speak the Truth, no matter what.

4:15  But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

4:16  Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify (honor) God on this behalf.

4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

If we are going to be judged, just imagine what is going to happen to the willfully disobedient.

4:18  And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?   (Pro 11:31)

Luke 23:31  For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

A green tree would represent God's children, wet with His Word. Adam's children, Abraham's seed, Jacob's children, who are the Israelites, who are Us. The Anglo-Saxon nations of the world.

The dry tree would represent Satan's children, dry with NO Spirit. Cain's children mixed with Esau's children, who are Edomites, who are Jews. Their end is described in the Book of Obadiah.

4:19  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful (trustworthy) Creator.

Tending the Flock of Elohiym

1Peter 5:1  The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory (honor) that shall be revealed:

 5:2  Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight (supervision) thereof, not by constraint (force), but willingly; not for filthy lucre (money), but of a ready (willing) mind;

John 21:16  He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest you Me? He saith unto him, Yea, Master; You knowest that I love You. He saith unto him, Feed My sheep.

Acts 20:28  Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the assembly of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood.

5:3  Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

Verses 1-3 is talking about the role of the supervisor, the elders. It is their job as knowledgeable and competent teachers to feed the flock. A great responsibility.

5:4  And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory (honor) that fadeth not away.

5:5  Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace (favor, Divine influence) to the humble.   (Pro 3:34)

5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:   (Mat 23:12; Luk 14:11, 18:14)

5:7  Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.   (Sir 2:1-17)

5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil (False Accuser), as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Job 1:7  And Yahweh said unto Satan, Whence comest you? Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

The Devil doesn't do this alone, he has many Jewish children and followers.

5:9  (You) Whom resist stedfast in the faith (to The Belief), knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world (society).

Ephesians 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

5:10  But the God of all grace (favor), who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Yahshua, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect (restored), stablish, strengthen, settle you.

       (2Cor 4:17-18)

5:11  To Him be glory (honor) and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Final Greetings and Benediction

5:12  By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace (favor, Divine influence) of God wherein you stand.  (Act 15:22,40; 2Cor 1:19)

5:13  The church that is at Babylon, elected (chosen) together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.   (Act 13:13, 15:37-39; Col 4:10; Phm 24)

13  The chosen woman in Babylon and Markos my son greet you.

'The church that is' is in italics, meaning it was added.

Acts 12:12  And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

5:14  Greet you one another with a kiss of charity (love). Peace be with you all that are in Christ Yahshua. Amen.

1 PETER – CHURCH DOCTRINE VS. SCRIPTURE

Below are 3 sources of what the modern churches preach today about the book of 1 Peter.

The purpose is to expose the apostasy and perversion of the scriptures, and to educate our people about the truth of our heritage. That we, the Anglo-Saxon race who are the descendants of ancient Israel, are the people of Abraham's seed and therefore the heirs of the promises of Yahweh. Not the Jews who distort and pervert the scriptures and teach the 'traditions of men'.

The book of 1st Peter is a General Epistle (Apostolic Letter). It was written to all believers in general. The author is Peter who wrote it about 60 A.D. The key personalities are the Apostle Peter, Silas, and Mark. Its purpose was to encourage suffering Christians and to call them to personal holiness; Peter’s central focus is persecution.

•    Chapters 1-2, Peter addresses the issue that believers are to live a life of personal holiness as God’s people, even during times of suffering and persecution. He teaches that all Christians are to expect suffering; it is normal and Scriptural for Christians to suffer persecution and even imprisonment and death. Peter explains that our salvation in Christ is secure and that He took our sin on the cross and, “for by His wounds you were healed” (2:24).

The term 'personal holiness' does not exist in scripture. Neither does personal salvation. The scripture teaches nothing but brotherly love and that each member is part of the whole. We are to support one another and imitate our Prince. It's all about the kingdom, national salvation, NOT personal salvation.

•    In chapters 3-5, Peter explains that in living holy lives the believer is to, “sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence” (3:15). A part of living a holy life is obeying the commands of Christ and Peter claimed that we are obligated to preach the “Hope that is in you”. He expounds that believers should not be surprised when persecution comes upon them, “be on the alert” because Satan is continuously, “seeking whom he may devour” (5:8). In addition, if the believer does suffer persecution, they are to glorify God and entrust their souls to Him.

The “Hope that is in you”. Hope means anticipation or expectation. When we are obedient and conduct ourselves according to His example, then we have allegiance (faith). Now we can expect (hope for) our inheritance.

When we suffer persecution, we are to glorify Yahweh because we know we are conforming to the Spirit, rather than Society.

Who wrote the book?

The first word of this epistle, Peter, identifies the author, who called himself “an apostle of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:1). He wrote this letter to a group of Christians scattered throughout the northern areas of Asia Minor, where he may have previously preached the gospel. It's where Paul established assemblies. Peter was reinforcing the message.

Peter wrote to a group of people that probably included both Jews and Gentiles. No author of the scriptures ever wrote to the Jews. Gentile is a Latin word that means nation, race or kin. The meaning was changed to mean non-Jews. The people that the “churches” teach that are “Gentiles” are actually True Israel. If you didn't get it yet, True Israel are the white nations of the world. Queen Elisabeth II is of the tribe of Judah. Adamites are the white race. The Bible is written by, to, for and about the race of Adam.  The apostle addressed the letter’s recipients as “aliens” (1:1), a word indicating that Peter was speaking not just to Jews (Judaeans, Israelites of Judaea) or just to Gentiles (the dispersed of Israel, who forgot who they were) but to Christians who were living their lives in such a way that they would have stood out as aliens among the surrounding culture.

The 'aliens' this commentator is talking about is in reference to the 'strangers' in chapter 1. As explained, there are at least 7 words that can mean stranger. Some refer to those of the same race, some to those of another race. In Peter's letter, these were sojourning strangers, kinsmen from another region.

Where are we?

In this letter, Peter spoke much about persecution, which anticipated the persecution he and other Christians would endure in the final years of Nero’s reign. At the time he wrote, Peter had not yet been arrested, an event that would lead to his martyrdom around AD 66–68. First Peter 5:13 indicates that Peter sent greetings from the local church (assembly)—calling it “Babylon”—but it’s most likely that the apostle was writing in a common metaphor there. He used the name of the ancient Mesopotamian city as a stand-in for Rome, the modern city that, like Babylon, gave itself over to idol worship and false gods. While the fact is not recorded in the Bible, Peter has long been thought to have spent his final years serving the church (assembly) in Rome. Based on the numerous references to suffering and persecution in this letter, Peter likely wrote in AD 64, just as the persecution of Christians under Nero was ramping up.

Why is First Peter so important?

First Peter focuses on the importance of believers bearing up under unjust suffering yet continuing to live well (1 Peter 2:20). In this way, 1 Peter might be called the Job of the New Testament, providing encouragement for the true believer to continue on in the way that Jesus has laid out for all His followers. The endurance Peter called these believers to is similar to Job’s, a man who suffered despite his righteousness. Peter maintained that this was the kind of true perseverance that God expects from His people.

What's the big idea?

Living in close proximity to Jesus Christ for more than three years had provided the apostle Peter the best possible example of what it looked like to live in holiness amid a hostile world. Amen! More than any other man who walked the earth, Jesus modeled that lifestyle. Peter therefore pointed his readers in the best possible direction, to Jesus Himself. The apostle called Christians to “sanctify Christ as Lord” in their hearts, that believers might live and act as Jesus desires during their short time here on earth (1 Peter 3:14–18). Double Amen! This would include submission to authority—even unjust authority—in the government, in the home, and in the workplace. Jesus becomes the focal point for ordering one’s life in the midst of trials and tribulations. By rooting their perseverance in the person and work of Christ, believers can always cling to hope in the midst of suffering.

How do I apply this?

Unjust or unforeseen suffering is one of the great problems that grips the hearts of people today. We struggle with frustration, anger, and uncertainty when trials strange and unexpected land on our doorsteps. Too often in those most difficult moments of our lives, confusion reigns while contentment wanes; questions arise while prayer subsides.

Most sufferings come as a result of disobedience. He promises us peace and health when we have allegiance (faith).

How do you react when suffering comes? Many crumble at the mere thought of another pain or trial. Others rise to the occasion. Most of us are probably somewhere in between. Peter’s encouragement to his Christian readers is one of perseverance in faith (allegiance). It isn’t enough for us to simply get up every morning and trudge through each day; neither is it advisable to paste a smile on our faces and ignore troubles. Instead, the lesson of 1 Peter is to push through the troubles, recognizing their temporary presence in our lives while walking in holiness and hope as people of faith.

So press on! It is in the darkest times that our collective light shines brightest.

Summary of the Book of 1 Peter

Author and Date

The author identifies himself as the apostle Peter (1:1), and the contents and character of the letter support his authorship (see notes on 1:12; 4:13; 5:1-2,5,13). Moreover, the letter reflects the history and terminology of the Gospels and Acts (notably Peter's speeches). Its themes and concepts reflect Peter's experiences and his associations in the period of our Lord's earthly ministry and in the apostolic age. That he was acquainted, e.g., with Paul and his letters is made clear in 2Pe 3:15-16; Gal 1:18; 2:1-21 and elsewhere. Coincidences in thought and expression with Paul's writings are therefore not surprising. So why don't Paul bashers bash Peter too?

From the beginning, 1 Peter was recognized as authoritative and as the work of the apostle Peter.

Nevertheless some claim that the idiomatic Greek of this letter is beyond Peter's competence. That's why Silvanis penned it. Peter was a fisherman, Paul was educated. But in his time Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek were used in the Holy Land, and he may well have been acquainted with more than one language. That he was not a professionally trained scribe (Ac 4:13) does not mean that he was unacquainted with Greek; in fact, as a Galilean fisherman he in all likelihood did use it.

The book can be satisfactorily dated in the early 60s. It cannot be placed earlier than 60 since it shows familiarity with Paul's Prison Letters (e.g., Colossians and Ephesians, which are to be dated no earlier than 60): Compare 1:1-3 with Eph 1:1-3; 2:18 with Col 3:22; 3:1-6 with Eph 5:22-24. Furthermore, it cannot be dated later than 67/68, since Peter was martyred during Nero's reign.

Place of Writing

In 5:13 Peter indicates that he was "in Babylon" when he wrote 1 Peter. Among the interpretations that have been suggested are that he was writing from (1) Egyptian Babylon, which was a military post, (2) Mesopotamian Babylon, (3) Jerusalem and (4) Rome. Peter may well be using the name Babylon symbolically, as it seems to be used in the book of Revelation (see Rev 14:8; 17:9-10). Tradition connects him in the latter part of his life with Rome, and certain early writers held that 1 Peter was written there. On the other hand, it is pointed out by some that (1) Babylon is known to have existed in the first century as a small town on the Euphrates; (2) there is no evidence that the term Babylon was used figuratively to refer to Rome until Revelation was written (c. a.d. 95); (3) the context of 5:13 does not appear to be figurative or cryptic.

Themes

Although 1 Peter is a short letter, it touches on various doctrines and has much to say about Christian life and duties. It is not surprising that different readers have found it to have different principal themes. For example, it has been characterized as a letter of separation, of suffering and persecution, of suffering and glory (honor), of hope, of pilgrimage, of courage, and as a letter dealing with the true grace (favor) of God. Peter says that he has written "encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace (favor) of God" (5:12).
